These pieces began as exercise instructions for Tom Goddard’s Beaten Black, Blue, Red, Green and Gold, 2012 —a living room Olympics project. The drawings later evolved into Marker for the Brough, a modular sculpture created for a participatory performance. Photographed on location - the sculpture acts as an intervention within the landscape, inviting collective action and reconsideration of our relationship to land.
The performance took place as part of 59.14 N 3.34 W - a one-day event on the Brough of Birsay, curated by Laura Mansfield during her Erland Williamson Art Fellowship residency.
